Overview

Welcome to our 16 new GL Club Members!

April and May have been very busy months for me, with updates to GolfLists amounting to a few tweaks. Thankfully the site's performance on Google has gone through the roof, meaning all the hours writing course essays is starting to pay off. Please, if you'd like to contribute any writing about your club, email me!

As an independent website, Google Search performance is the lifeblood of attracting new members to the site, so the more I / we write, the more people find the GL Club!

I have not spoken much about myself in these newsletters, but I work full time in Technology, alongside trying to build out GolfLists.com.

In addition, I have a charming, but demanding 6-month-old son.

Sometimes there isn't enough time to do everything! But I always try to take a 10-year view on GolfLists. What could it be with little, but consistent improvements in 10 years time? Any way, that is my excuse out of the way!

I did get some superb golf in first in the "Old Tom One" at Cleeve Hill. I managed to get it round in 91 blows with just a 7 iron, including a birdie on the last hole, which I was delighted with. I seemed to have fewer putts with a 7 iron than a putter, which I don't know if I should be happy or sad about...

The winner managed to go round in 76 which is mind-blowing! It was a great event ran by fellow golfing keeno Alex Frolish, aka Elevation Golfing Nation on Instagram. I would recommend playing next year if you get the chance, I know some of you played this year!

The following day I made my way to Pennard in South Wales, to take up an invite from Golf Lists Club member, Dai. He was a wonderful host and Pennard is a stunning course, which was well worth the trip.

This week I am off to the Netherlands, to play Royal Hague and Kennemer, after another great invite by Golf Lists Club Ambassador ginger.golf. Check out his Instagram when you get the chance!

If you think I should include lists for the Top 100 World and Europe on GolfLists let me know?! If there is demand, I will add it!

Thought of the Month: Please contribute your insights!

Again I am going to plug the new 'Contribute' feature. I am asking our GL Club members to share local insider knowledge about your golf club(s) and courses with members of the GL Club. In return, you will receive GL Points; 5 points, for each data point added to the site.

Points mean prizes...I haven't quite figured out what that means for GolfLists. But the idea is that the quid pro quo for contributing your knowledge to the site, will enter you into draws to win golf-related prizes and/or opportunities. Thanks to the couple of you that have already done it!
