Welcome to our 14 new GL Club Members!

I felt like the golfing gods owed me this month.

I don't know about you? But the amount of rain this winter has dulled my passion for getting out on the course. I've never been so uninterested in a round of golf, muddy trousers and the sodden fairways of Essex are not the most inspiring.

But I was very lucky to have a game schedule over the Easter weekend with an incredibly gracious host, at Formby Golf Club. I also got to meet GolfLists member, David, who gave me some useful feedback on the site.

Some miracle prevailed, and we had blue skies for a 4-hour window, allowing me to remind myself that I love this game, and playing a great, new course is tough to beat.

Formby, by the way, is a new favourite, and my 50th played course in the GolfLists Top 100 England.

Thought of the Month: Sharing is Caring

The big news this month is that we have launched the 'Contribute' feature on golflists. This means you can share local insider knowledge about your golf club(s) and courses with members of the GL Club.

In return, you will receive GL Points; 5 points for each data point added to the site.

Points mean prizes, I haven't quite figured out what that means for golflists. But the idea is that the quid pro quo for contributing your knowledge to the site will enter you into draws to win golf-related prizes and/or opportunities.

I'd appreciate it if you would navigate to the Profile page, click on the 'Contribute' menu, contribute some knowledge, and let me know how you get on via email, or DM me on Instagram @officialgolflists.

2. Member Shout Outs / Golf Deals

Deals of the Month:

Alwoodley and Moortown are offering a great-value stay-and-play package for the new season allowing you to experience two Top 100 courses in one trip. Play one course on a Sunday afternoon, stay overnight at a nearby 4 Star Hotel, and then play the second course the following morning.

The price includes breakfast and is based on two people sharing a room.

3. Feature Roadmap Overview

Gone live this month:

• "Contribute" - contribute your local insights to GolfLists, and share knowledge discreetly with other GolfLists members. Navigate to the profile page and go to the contribute menu, to share knowledge of your golf club(s) and course(s) that you are a member of.
• "GL Points" - in return for contributing knowledge (and in future adding played courses and other usage of the site) you will gain Golf Lists Points, making you eligible for prizes and opportunities as a thank you for sharing your knowledge with the community.

Roadmap Development Priorities (public on our Discord page):

• Forms to allow members to incrementally update their home course information and earn Golf Lists Points
• Add more leaderboard views e.g. counties, collections, course style etc.
• Add 'newest course photos' slider on homepage
• Make homepage different if you are already a member
• Meet the Ambassadors Page
• Add Profile Photo upload option (you can send me a picture directly current)
• Enhance achievement badges and gamification on profile page
• Release basic practice facility database e.g. Top 100 England
