David Jones
David Jones (b. 1947) is a Northern Irish golf course architect and former professional. He won 13 tournaments including the 1989 Kenya Open and finished third at the 1981 Carrolls Irish Open. A broken collarbone in 2001 ended his playing career. Jones was approached by Killarney in 1988 to redesign their course for the Irish Open. He pioneered courses in Turkey from 1992, designed four there including the National Golf Club, and completed projects in Kenya, Tanzania, and the UK. He redesigned Skipton Golf Club with a dramatic 17th on a flood embankment (2018). Jones is on The European Tour Board of Directors.
