John Jacobs

John Jacobs (1925–2017) was one of golf's most influential figures. Primarily a legendary teaching professional, his methodology revolutionised instruction by focusing on how the ball reacts after leaving the clubface. He established the John Jacobs Golf School in 1971, helping over 250,000 golfers. Jacobs won the Dutch Open (1957), competed in three Ryder Cups (player 1955; captain 1979, 1981), and was Founder and first Tournament Director-General of the PGA European Tour (1971–75). He received the OBE in 1997 and was elected to the World Golf Hall of Fame in 2000. Known as "Dr. Golf," he also contributed to golf course design.
