John Morrison

John Stanton Fleming Morrison was a British golf course architect who joined Harry Colt's practice in the early 1920s. In 1928 he formed Colt, Alison & Morrison Ltd with Colt and Charles Hugh Alison; the firm designed over 300 courses across all continents. Morrison helped build Sunningdale's New course in 1922 and was made partner when the company was established. He collaborated with Colt after Alister MacKenzie left the partnership in 1923. Morrison and Colt brought strategic design and natural routing to courses worldwide. He corresponded with Alison on design matters and was an influential figure in the Golden Age of golf architecture.
