Sir Guy Campbell
Sir Guy Campbell (1885–1960) was a British golf course architect, the great-grandson of Robert Chambers who co-designed Royal Liverpool's original course. Educated at Eton and St Andrews, he won medals at St Andrews and reached the Amateur semi-finals in 1907. Campbell served in the infantry in WWI and the Royal Rifle Corps in WWII. He worked as golf journalist for The Times before forming "Links and Courses" (later Ferigna) with S.V. Hotchkin and C.K. Hutchison. A founding member of the International Society of Golf Architects in 1929 with Colt and MacKenzie. His designs include Ashridge, West Sussex, Rye, Prince's, Felixstowe Ferry, Killarney, and Machrihanish.
