The Achill Golf Course is located at Sandybanks in Keel on Achill Island. It is a 9-hole links course that offers stunning views of the beach, cliffs, the Atlantic Ocean, and the hills of Achill. Despite appearing simple at first glance, the course is known for its unexpected challenges, especially for those who make inaccurate shots.
The course is bordered by a river and overlooks both the strand of Keel and the Minaun Cliffs, with out-of-bounds coming into play on the 4th and 5th holes. The 6th hole, at 361 yards, is considered the course's most difficult hole and is referred to as Achill's signature hole.
