Arbroath Artisan Golf Club

Arbroath Golf Links, also known as Elliot Links, was established in 1878 with a course designed by Old Tom Morris. The course was inaugurated on March 9, 1878, when Morris opened it by playing an exhibition match against Rob Dow.

The course was later updated by Willie Fernie in 1907 and redesigned by James Braid in 1931. It is characterized by its traditional links style, complete with dunes, sea breezes, and over 70 bunkers, including the penal Braid bunkers.

An out of bounds runs along the length of the course on the first seven holes and comes into play on the 13th and 18th holes. Additionally, three burns cross the course towards the sea, affecting eight holes.

Arbroath Golf Links is a par 68 off the box tees and a 70 off the medal tees, offering challenges for all skill levels. The course is open 365 days a year, providing consistent golfing opportunities.

Historically, the course's design elements reflect the influence of three former Open champions: Old Tom Morris, Willie Fernie, and James Braid. These designers collectively claimed the Open Championship 11 times.
