Ashford Manor Golf Club

The golf course at Ashford Manor was initiated in 1898 on Staines Moor by Ashford residents, with basic clubhouse facilities. The transition from Staines Moor to Ashford Manor occurred sometime between 1898 and 1902, with the "New Manor Golf Club Ashford Company" being established in 1902 to purchase the estate and secure its use for golf.

Notable golfer Harold Horsfall Hilton joined the club in 1905, bringing significant recognition to Ashford Manor Golf Club through his multiple championship victories, including two Open Championships and four Amateur Championships. By 1907, the club had flourished and subsequently added a new Smoking Room and Billiard room, known today as the Spike Bar.

Ashford Manor Golf Club, a founding member of the Middlesex County Golf Union, established in 1924, captured the Middlesex Champion Club title for the first time in 1927. The course persisted in its influential role in the county's golf scene, accentuated in 2000 when its players won both individual and team county championships.

The club has hosted several prestigious championships in the new millennium, including the Middlesex Boys U14/U13 Championship, Middlesex Youth/Boys U18/U16 Championship, Middlesex Seniors Championship, and in 2013, it hosted the inaugural Middlesex Mid Amateur Championship along with the England Golf South Eastern Group Seniors Championship. Matt Fitzpatrick, having been made an honorary member for winning the U.S. Amateur Championship in 2013, added to the club's legacy.
