Auchmill Golf Club is a members' golf club, in North East Scotland. The club was first formed in 1975.
The Auchmill Golf Course was originally a 9-hole course inaugurated on October 14, 1975, with design contributions by Brian Hugget, Neil Coles, and architect Roger Dyer. The first tee-off on the course was performed by John Tosh from Westhill at 8 AM on the opening day.
Due to high course traffic and limited facilities, players would often change attire in their automobiles, and starting times were determined on a first-come-first-serve basis with a starting box at the course, which is still visible from the clubhouse today.
An expansion of the Auchmill Golf Course was completed with the opening of an 18-hole course on October 3, 1989, by Sandy Pirie, acclaimed greenkeeper and former amateur golf champion. The extension was a response to the golf course's popularity among local players and clubs.
Further development of the course included reconfiguring problem holes, like the old 4th and 5th, due to their hazardous positioning on a slope near the Heathryfold housing estate. In their place, the Auchmill Community Woodland was established and new holes were created to maintain the integrity of the 18-hole course.
In 2007, the course faced the challenge of losing sections of the 13th and 14th holes for infrastructure development, but an agreement was reached to provide two replacement holes. These new holes, designed to offer a challenge for golfers of varying skill levels, were slated to be ready for the 2015 season.
The golf course has also catered to players with disabilities through the acquisition of golf buggies, funded by a £5k grant from Aberdeen City Council, ensuring inclusive participation in the sport. The juniors' team of Auchmill Golf Course claimed the "Off the Tee Trophy" on August 19, 2012, boosting the course's reputation in junior golf competitions.
