About: Ballochmyle Golf Club

Ballochmyle Golf Club is a members' golf club, in Ayrshire & Arran.

Ballochmyle Golf Course is an inland course located approximately 10-12 miles from the Ayrshire coast and is established on what was once the Ballochmyle Estate. The course is set in an area known as Burns country, owing to its connections with Scotland's National Bard, Robert Burns, who was inspired by the estate's scenery to write songs.

The golf course became a part of the Ballochmyle Estate, historically owned by the Alexander family and is notable for being on the grounds where Robert Burns composed 'The Bonnie Lass o' Ballochmyle'.

The club's crest, a emblem of an Elephant, is derived from the Alexander Family's coat of arms, the former residents of Ballochmyle House.

The club's motto "Ariston Metron" is of Greek origin, signifying 'the golden mean'. It is interpreted as a guiding principle to 'keep it down the middle'...
