Bangor Golf Club is a members' golf club, in Down. The club was first formed in 1903.
Bangor Golf Course was established in 1903, near the center of Bangor, a seaside town on the north coast of County Down, and is characterized as an undulating parkland course. The initial nine holes of the course were introduced on June 13, 1903, and the second nine followed in 1904, adding up to a full 18-hole course.
In 1933, the golf course was relocated to its present site across Broadway, where renowned architect and five-time Open winner James Braid designed the new 18-hole layout. The current clubhouse was opened on April 6, 1935, by the Prime Minister of Northern Ireland, and Lady Craigavon teed off the opening shot to inaugurate the course.
The course has undergone changes over time but maintains several original elements from the design of James Braid. It celebrated its centennial in 2003, which was marked by the attendance of HRH the Duke of York and the unveiling of a commemorative plaque in the clubhouse.
