Beith Golf Club

Beith Golf Club's golf course was established with nine holes opposite Grangehill in 1896, as reported by "The Herald" on 14th February of that year, and then subsequently moved to its current location in 1907. The course was further expanded into an 18-hole course following the acquisition of additional land from Mr. Hugh Knox of Hill of Beith in 1993, which opened in 1996.

In the early 1960s, the original clubhouse was destroyed by a fire, and a replacement hut was purchased from Hunterston Power Station and set up next to the 3rd tee. The current clubhouse, marking a significant evolution in the club's facilities and approach to operations, opened on May 4th, 1974, symbolizing a transition from reliance on volunteer labor to more formalized management.

Economic challenges and changing leisure priorities led to a decline in membership and financial difficulties for Beith Golf Club around 2017/2018, which prompted the transition back to a 9-hole golf course. This change aimed to sustain the club by reducing operational costs while still providing golfing opportunities for its members.

As of February 2020, the decision to revert to a 9-hole layout has been beneficial for the club, which is in a strong financial position and investing in the maintenance and improvement of both the course and clubhouse. Key features of the golf course include two tees for each hole to offer variety, as well as access to a practice range and a putting green for members.
