Belfairs Park Golf Course is a municipal golf club, in Essex. The club was first formed in 1926.
Belfairs Golf Course was established in 1926 after Southend Borough Council purchased the Belfairs Estate in 1919 and decided to develop various sports facilities including an 18 hole golf course. Harry Colt, a notable course architect, was commissioned to design the Belfairs Golf Course, which was the first municipal golf course in Essex.
The course was officially opened on 11th September 1926 by Mayor Alderman Dowsett, celebrated with an exhibition match featuring prominent golfers of the time. Belfairs Golf Course is characterized by its woodland setting, with the front nine offering wider fairways and the back nine presenting more challenging, tree-lined, and narrow fairways.
