Betws-Y-Coed Golf Club

Founded officially in 1977, Betws-y-coed Golf Club has a storied history that extends further back. The first iterations of golf in Betws-y-coed can be dated back to 1912 when plans were devised for a course on "Royal Oak Farm." The initial nine-hole layout was operational for a few months before it was converted back to agricultural land in 1914 as part of the war effort. An attempt to resuscitate the course was made in 1924, but it proved unsuccessful.

Fast forward to nearly 60 years later, the idea of a golf course gained traction again when three emen, Lewis Parry, E.R Hughes, and Tom Jones began discussing the possibility during evening walks. This led to elections for a committee and officials in 1971. After six years of planning and fundraising, Betws-y-coed Golf Club officially opened on June 4, 1977, using temporary greens. The formal opening of the golf course with official greens and tees came into use on May 1, 1978, marked by the Earl of Ancaster driving the first tee.

Standard visitor green fees are £35 for 18 holes or £25 for 9 holes. Juniors play for £25/£15 respectively.

Twilight green fees, available after 4pm, are £30 for 18 holes or £20 for 9 holes. Junior twilight fees are £20/£10 respectively.
