Bloxwich Golf Club

Bloxwich Golf Club was established in 1924, with the acquisition of 96 acres for the course in 1919 and an expansion by 12 acres facilitating a full 18-hole course. The course, while primarily designed by Mr George Coburn, who trained unde Old Tom Morris at St. Andrews, opened with nine holes and gained notable recognition early on for the challenging 6th hole.

Throughout its history, the course has seen significant events, such as Major RW Downs' first hole-in-one in April 1925 and a course record of 63 set after H A (Peter) Squire broke the initial record of 70 in 1937. During World War II, trenches were dug across the course for defense, and military personnel stationed there were afforded honorary memberships.

In 1988, the members took ownership of the club, forming Bloxwich Golf Club (1988) Ltd and paying £90,000. Following the ownership change, the club underwent considerable development, including new locker rooms in 1999 and the construction of a Professional's shop which acts as the starting point for visitors today.

A reconfiguration took place in 2010, transforming the layout into two 9-hole loops and repositioning the 18th hole adjacent to the clubhouse. The course thus presents a cohesive playing experience culminating in a strategic final hole in proximity to the club's facilities.
