Bramley Golf Club

The golf course at Bramley Golf Club was established in 1913 when Lt. Colonel Fox Webster, the owner of Bramley Grange, commissioned Charles Mayo to construct the course at Gosden Hill. Following a postponement due to World War I, the course did not have an official opening and underwent significant changes including a remodel by James Braid in 1935.

During World War I, the golf course faced challenges, leading to the Club being wound up in 1918, although it was later revived by Colonel Webster. Notable changes occurred in 1935 when James Braid redesigned some holes, and by 1964 the course layout had further changed, including a new 12th hole and 35 new bunkers.

Various historical events affected the course, such as the transformation of three holes into food production areas during World War I and German bomb damage in 1942. Bramley Golf Course was modernized over time with a covered driving range added by 1996, water hazards and fairway watering systems installed, and a renovation of the bunkers starting in 2019.

In 1974, the members of the golf club secured the freehold of the course and clubhouse, ensuring its future for the members. The course's centennial year in 2013 was marked by installations of new tee signs, drinking fountains, and landscaped areas.
