Bruntsfield Links Golf Club

The Bruntsfield Links Golfing Society's golf course was established in 1761 at the Bruntsfield Links, where golf has been played since the 15th century. The course is located adjacent to Edinburgh Castle and consists of a 36 short hole layout.

In 1876, the Society relocated to Musselburgh, acquiring a clubhouse in 1886, and subsequently moved to the Cramond – Regis estate at Barnton, 3 miles west of Edinburgh, in 1898. This move introduced a spacious parkland course designed by Willie Park Jr., which has been modified by several architects, including Dr. Alistair Mackenzie (1922), James Braid (1930), Fred Hawtree (1974), and Tom MacKenzie (2018).

With a current length of 6,646 yards and a par of 71, the course features shaped fairways, well-placed bunkers, numerous trees, and subtle greens. A clubhouse erected in 1899 provides views of the Firth of Forth and the Fife hills, offering high-standard catering facilities described by members as exceptional.

Bruntsfield has served as a Regional Qualifying venue for The Open Championship from 2011-2015 and hosted various championships throughout its history. Notable players such as Walter Hagen in 1933, and Bobby Locke in 1954 have played on the course, which is situated at 32 Barnton Avenue, Edinburgh, EH4 6JH.
