Bulwell Forest Golf Club

The Bulwell Forest Golf Club, initially known as Notts Golf Club, was established in 1889 as a six-hole course. It was extended to nine holes by 1890 and to the full eighteen holes by 1894.

Notable players such as J.H. Taylor and Harry Vardon played on the course in the 1890s, with Vardon playing a match against Tom Williamson in 1900. Vardon's observation regarding the abundance of gorse and the narrowness of the course led to a reduction of gorse over time.

Following the relocation of Notts Golf Club to Hollinwell in 1902, Bulwell Forest Golf Club was formally established. In 1906, the Nottingham City Council constructed the current clubhouse, which has since seen the integration of an unused cricket pavilion.

The golf course is acknowledged for its playability during winter and presents a challenge during summer with its narrow fairways and numerous trees. Bulwell Forest Golf Club prides itself on being an accessible year-round course with a variety of memberships.

Visitor green fees start from £12.50 for both weekdays and weekends. Nottinghamshire County Cards are accepted Monday to Friday only.
