Camberley Heath Golf Club

The Camberley Heath Golf Club course was established in 1913 and was designed by H. S. (Harry Shapland) Colt. It features a heathland-style course which utilises natural terrain contours to add to the strategic golf experience.

Notable features of the course include excellent drainage due to the sandy soil, which allows for year-round play, and a comprehensive irrigation system that leverages a natural bore hole to water tees, fairways, and greens. The course is actively managed with a focus on forestry and heathland conservation.

In terms of historical significance, Camberley Heath Golf Club has hosted prestigious events such as the Lagonda Trophy and the Regional Qualifier for The Open Championship. The course has seen notable players like James Braid, J. H. Taylor, Harry Vardon, and Tommy Armour.

The club has a connection with British royalty; HRH Prince Albert of Schleswig Holstein performed the opening drive, and it has had royal patrons including the Duke of York (later King George VI) and the Prince of Wales. In 1929, a notable match featured the Admirals against the Generals with royal participation.

Visitors are welcome at Camberley Heath. Weekday green fees range from £75-£95, while weekend green fees range from £85-£110. These rates are based on seasonal periods.
