Carrick-on-Suir Golf Club

The golf course at Carrick-on-Suir was established in 1939 at Whitechurch, before moving in 1943 to a new location at Garravoone, over two miles from the town center. Initially rough terrain, it was transformed into a 9 hole course ready for play in the same year with the help of Tommy Ryan from Tramore Golf Club.

In 1975, the golf course underwent remodeling and expansion, increasing its length using an additional 7 acres of land, with design contributions from Eddie Hackett. This new 9 hole course, covering 5,948 yards, featured an automatic watering system and was playable by 1976.

A significant development occurred in 1995 when the club acquired additional land to expand the course to a full 18 holes. The exact geographic location of the Golf Course is Garravoone, Carrick-on-Suir, Co. Waterford, E32 KH32, Ireland.

The style of the course is parkland, and it is characterized by its setting near the historic town of Carrick-on-Suir, with views of the Suir Valley and protection from the Comeragh Mountains. As of 2021, the golf course measures 6109 meters from the back tees and presents challenges for all levels of golfers.
