Corhampton Golf Club

Corhampton Golf Club's establishment is traced back to 1891, based on information from the Royal and Ancient Club, although formal records of the club's inception appear in the 1906-7 directory. The club's location on Corhampton Down initially shared with cricket, provided a nine-hole course which was reduced to seven holes on Saturdays due to cricket matches.

Course development progressed after World War I, transitioning from uncut fairways and modest greens to a more refined nine-hole layout. By 1932, professional-greenkeeper Bert Dedman had reshaped the course into a nine-hole configuration that would persist for over four decades, until extensive modifications were initiated in the 1970s.

In 1973, an ambitious project was undertaken to expand Corhampton within its existing 88 acres, resulting in a redesigned 18-hole course that was inaugurated in 1975, alongside a new clubhouse. This expansion and modernization were supported financially by the club's members, reflecting a strong community spirit and commitment to the club's future.

The 18-hole course was further extended in 1988, with plans involving the acquisition of additional land and the expertise of Hawtree and Company, golf course architects. This significant development aimed to meet the increasing demands of the sport, showcasing continuous improvement and adaptation over the years.

Visitor green fees are available. Weekday rates are £40, and weekend rates are £45.
