Cotswold Hills Golf Club

The first golf course on Cleeve Hill was established in 1891 by the Cheltenham Golf Club, laid out on common land and characterized by terrain that resembled a links course despite its inland location. Over the years, this site has seen several iterations of golf courses, with the current iteration being the municipal Cleeve Hill Golf Course, which serves as the home of the Cleeve Cloud Golf Club.

The Cotswold Hills Golf Club, originally known as the Cheltenham Town Golf Club, was founded in 1902 and shared the Cleeve Hill course with the Cheltenham Golf Club for over thirty years. After various issues including conflicts with public access and livestock, Cotswold Hills Golf Club decided to relocate and, in the early 1970s, began the creation of a new course on farmland at Ullenwood with plans conceived by Morris Little, a Club member, which opened in May 1976.

This 18-hole golf course at Ullenwood, with a limestone base for better drainage, is recognized for being playable year-round and has become one of the most respected golf courses in the county of Gloucestershire. Cotswold Hills has played host to notable tournaments such as the English Ladies' Amateur Championship and the England Golf County Boys' Finals.
