County Cavan Golf Club

Founded in October 1894, County Cavan Golf Club began with a nine-hole course created by Thomas Lough in Killynebber. Initially, it was a private course for the Lough family and political peers, but by 1896, it evolved into a club with 28 members, with A. S. Lough presiding.

In 1899, the club affiliated with the Golfing Union of Ireland. By 1920, it had relocated to Drumelis, introducing a new nine-hole course. Notable hardships struck during the war years, with recovery and growth leading to a new clubhouse and course expansion in 1972.

Significant developments continued with the launch of a club sweater in 1982 and the hosting of the first Pro-Am in 1986. Further expansion occurred in 1992, including a practice area and a redesigned 18-hole course enhanced in 2004 by Arthur Spring.

The club's centenary in 1994 saw the introduction of a new crest designed by Philip Cullivan, symbolizing the club's rich heritage and ongoing commitment to tradition and quality in the game of golf.

Green fees are €30 Monday-Friday and €35 Saturday-Sunday, including Bank Holidays. A 4-ball special is available for €100. Student rates (17+ years) are €20 and Juvenile (under 16 years) rates are €15.
