The Co. Longford Golf Club was established in 1894 and is situated on the outskirts of Longford town on the Dublin Road (R393), approximately an hour from Dublin. The golf course underwent a complete redesign in May 2005 and features mature trees and multiple water hazards.
The course spans over 6700 yards and has a par of 72 with the 18th as its par 5 signature hole, which includes an approach shot over water. The course provides views over Longford and the surrounding countryside.
Golf lessons are offered by the club professional Pete Duignan. The Co. Longford Golf Club received the Hidden Gem Award for the Midlands & West by the Annual Golfers Guide to Ireland in 2019.
