Coventry Golf Club

Coventry Golf Club was formed in 1887, initially featuring a 9-hole course at Whitley Common, before moving to the current 18-hole site at Finham Park in 1911. The course, designed by Tom Vardon with bunkers marked out by his brother Harry Vardon, was officially opened in 1912 with exhibition matches by Harry Vardon and James Braid.

Since its inception, the course has seen significant developments, including a major reconstruction of all bunkers in 1998 to accommodate the increased distance achievable with modern equipment. The Coventry Golf Club course spans 6590 yards, comprises a Par of 73 and an SSS of 73 (white tees), featuring 5 par 5’s, 9 par 4’s, and 4 par 3’s.

Coventry Golf Club's course has hosted numerous professional and amateur tournaments and has been selected by the R&A for Regional Open Qualifiers. It is also characterized by a unique collection of trees, with all 18 holes lined by a variety of species typical of a parkland course.

In recognition of its environmental efforts, Coventry Golf Club earned the distinction of being the first in England to receive the Golf Environment Organisation (GEO) eco-label certificate and the first to retain it for a second term. The course is situated within 120 acres of the Warwickshire countryside, offering a diverse golfing environment.
