About: Cushendall Golf Club

Cushendall Golf Club is a members' golf club, in Antrim. The club was first formed in 1937.

Cushendall Golf Course was established in 1937, following a meeting held at the Glens of Antrim hotel to discuss the formation of a Golf Club and land acquisition. The grounds for the course, known as Legge grounds, were leased for an annual rent of £35, and an initial budget of £140 was proposed for the first year's operation.

Key individuals involved in the creation of the golf course included James McSparran, elected Chairman, and Larry Morahan, who initiated the meeting and served as the Honorary Secretary. The first Annual General Meeting took place on 18th February 1938, at which time Mr. McSparran was elected as the first captain of Cushendall Golf Club.
