Davenport Golf Club

The establishment of Davenport Golf Course dates back to 1913 when it was founded by a group known as 'The Niblicks' in the Adswood district of Stockport, which was primarily farmland. Initially formed as a casual society for friends to play golf, it eventually became a formal golf club.

In 1969, the golf course relocated to the parkland of Worth Hall estate in Poynton after the original site was sold due to road development plans. The new 18-hole course was developed on this site, continuing the history of the club in a new location.

The original 9-hole course was situated at Garners Lane off Bramhall Lane where play continued until the 1970s. Despite records suggesting Davenport Golf Club's existence from as early as 1907, the first official listing in the Golfer's Handbook occurred in 1956.

The land for the last and current location of Davenport Golf Course was acquired after selling the original site for housing development, with the final competition at Garners Lane played in September 1973. Members began playing at the new location at Worth Hall in early October 1973, and the club has since seen substantial growth and investment in course development.

Visitor green fees offer great value, with Summer rates starting from £30 during the week.

April to May 2025 and November 2025 to March 2026 weekday rates are £25 and weekend rates are £32.

June to September 2025 weekday rates are £30 and weekend rates are £35.
