Donnington Grove Golf Club

The Donnington Grove Golf Course is set on an Estate that was historically established in 1763, with the house originally built for James Pettit Andrews, and the landscape significantly developed by William Brummell. The course itself was not established until 1993 when it was designed by Dave Thomas, who is known for designing other prominent courses such as the Brabazon at the Belfry.

Spanning across part of the estate's original 800 acres, the 18-hole layout provides a diverse playing experience, with the front nine situated on higher ground and the back nine showcasing classic parkland features, including an abundance of trees and water hazards.

The golf course incorporates aspects of the Donnington Grove Estate's history and terrain, offering a playing length of up to 7,108 yards from the back markers and a par of 72. Notable holes include the 198-yard 5th, the short par four 9th, the tricky par four 11th with a bunkerless green, and the 368-yard 14th hole that presents a pond near the green.

Although the River Lambourn chalk stream meanders through the back nine, its presence does not strategically influence the game. The layout across the estate provides a range of challenges, primarily derived from the course's length rather than complexity around the greens.

Visitor rates are available. Weekday green fees start at £30 and weekend green fees start at £35.
