Druids Heath Golf Club

Druids Heath Golf Club was established on 1st April 1974, designed by local businessman and sportsman Jim Ashwell in collaboration with landowners Edgar Swain and his son Les. The course, built on Nuttall’s Farm in Hobs Hole Lane, Aldridge, featured well-drained sand and gravel substrate, allowing for year-round playability.

Enhancements to the course began in earnest in 1988 after the club was purchased by its members in 1987, including tree planting, upgraded irrigation, new tees, and reconstructed greens and bunkers. These improvements were focused on elevating the playing experience for both members and visitors.

The course is noted for its sand-based substrate that facilitates excellent drainage and provides challenges with its tree-lined fairways and fast, sloping greens. It also offers striking views across the surrounding countryside and is conveniently located near major road networks in the West Midlands area.

Several upgrades have been made to the clubhouse facilities, including extensions to the professional shop, lounge and dining areas, office facilities, and the addition of a snooker room. These changes were mainly executed in the early 1990s to cater to various events and enhance the overall experience at the course.

Green fee rates vary depending on the time of year. Summer rates (April 1st - October 31st) for weekend visitors are £75.00. Weekday visitor rates are £55.00.
