Dudley Golf Club is a members' golf club, in Worcestershire. The club was first formed in 1893.
Dudley Golf Course was established in 1893 when Canon Adam Gray Maitland, a vicar from Scotland, recognized the need for a golf course in the Dudley locality and selected 'the Old Park' area for its development. The course was designed by the renowned 'Old' Tom Morris, who also crafted notable courses including Muirfield, Prestwick, and Carnoustie, and the Earl of Dudley was its first president, with Mr Hugh Kirkaldy as the inaugural professional.
After the lease on the original course expired in 1927, the current golf course was constructed over an area known as Rough Hills, or locally as Rowley Hills. The site is characterized by its geologically volcanic origin, presenting a landscape of rock overlaid with grass, and is well-known for providing expansive views which, on clear days, can extend as far as the Black Mountains in Wales and purportedly to the Ural Mountains in Russia from the 8th green.
