Ealing Golf Club is a members' golf club, in Greater London. The club was first formed in 1898.
The golf course was established in March 1898 by proprietors George, Gibson, and Way, initially named the Castle Bar Golf Club. It was later renamed Ealing Golf Club in 1901 when it became a members' club and subsequently became Ealing Golf Club(1923) Ltd to manage the purchase of the Freehold land in 1923.
Designed by James Braid, a member of the Great Triumvirate, the course underwent its first major redesign in 1926 by renowned course architect Harry S. Colt as a response to the construction of Western Avenue and the expansion of the course by 8 acres. The layout of the course has been altered multiple times, including a significant change in 2002 to improve access convenience to the clubhouse, with ongoing improvements such as tee and bunker upgrades and full fairway irrigation system installations.
Notable features of the course include St. Mary’s of Perivale church dating back to 1135, located within the course bounds, and an ancient Yew Tree aged over 850 years adjacent to a newly constructed chipping green. The course has historical military significance, with previous anti-aircraft placements and a rifle range area, now part of the 6th fairway, which saw action before the course's establishment.
Post-World War II, the golf course faced financial difficulties due to debts and the costs of restoration. However, successful negotiations led by H. B. Randolph, the club Chairman and Chairman of Wilkinson Sword at the time, secured 'Loss of Development' rights from the government, significantly aiding in the club's recovery and allowing for technological advancements in course maintenance.
Visitor green fees vary depending on the season. Weekday rates are £80 from April to November and £45 from December to March. Twilight rates (after 4pm) are available on weekdays for £60.
Junior and Student weekday rates are £40 (Apr-Nov) and £25 (Dec-Mar), and must be booked through the Pro Shop.
