About: Edgbaston Golf Club

Edgbaston Golf Club is a members' golf club, in Warwickshire. The club was first formed in 1896.

Edgbaston Golf Club, established on January 16, 1896, first played on courses at Warley Woods from 1896 to 1910 and Tennal Hall, Harborne from 1910 to 1935 before moving to its current location at Edgbaston Park. The move was necessitated after the land at Tennal Hall was acquired by the government, and the course at Edgbaston Park, designed by Harry Colt, cost £6,000 to create.

The present golf course was opened in 1937 by the then Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain. Edgbaston Golf Course sustained significant damage during World War II, with the mistaken bombings intended for nearby industrial targets, leading to a delayed full reopening until 1950.
