Ely City Golf Club is a members' golf club, in Cambridgeshire. The club was first formed in 1962.
Ely City Golf Course was established in 1962 and designed as a parkland course by Henry Cotton. It is a 72 par course measuring 6279 yards, extending to 6537 yards from the white tees, and it is located on the outskirts of the city of Ely.
The course originally opened as a 9-hole course and was expanded to an 18-hole course in 1973. Notably, the course has been a venue for a challenge match between Lee Trevino and Hugh Baiocchi that same year, which Trevino won with a score of 66.
The golf course was founded on a site that was previously a prisoner of war camp and the development was the endeavor of five local businessmen. The expansion of the course included its official opening on July 4, 1973.
Continuous enhancements have been made to maintain the standards and reputation of the course. The Club celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2012 with various events, including a Gala Dinner Dance.
Green fees are available all year round. Twilight rates are available after 5pm in the summer.
