Fairhaven Golf Club is a members' golf club, in Lancashire. The club was first formed in 1892.
Fairhaven Golf Course was initially a 12-hole course established next to Fairhaven Lake in 1892, but due to various challenges, it relocated half a mile inland to what was then Lytham Hall Park in 1924. The course, which was very flat and devoid of trees at the time of the move, was extensively landscaped by J.A. Steer and James Braid, who are credited with shaping the hills, hollows, and bunkers that define the course's character.
The course was formally opened on May 2, 1925, with the clubhouse that remains in use, albeit with modifications. J.A. Steer conducted some remodeling in 1931 to elevate the course's standards, and in 1977, the course underwent further enhancements by Dave Thomas that included the bunkers' profile, green shapes, and planting of spinneys and rhododendrons.
Further renovations and improvements continued with the input of Donald Steel beginning in 2003, aiming to ensure the course provides a challenging golf experience in the context of evolving equipment technology. The new bunkering and subtle course developments were intended to maintain the course's relevance for all player levels.
The history of the course intersects with wildlife, particularly with pheasants, which were a feature of Lytham Hall Park's shooting activities at the turn of the 20th Century. These birds have since become associated with the course, and their silhouette is even used on the course's merchandise following an initiative by the club professional in 1968.
From April 1st to October 15th, the weekday green fee is £105 per person and the weekend green fee is £120 per person. Early Bird and Twilight rates (Monday to Friday) are available for £75 per person, and Late Night Golf (Monday to Friday) is £65 per person.
A fourball promotion is offered at £70 per person from Monday to Friday.
