Formby Hall Golf Club

The Formby Hall Golf Club course first opened in 1996 and is known for its challenging parland layout with water hazards, deep bunkers, and pristine fairways. Designed as an 18-hole Championship Course, it offers a variety of challenges for different levels of play.

In addition to the main course, the club also features the 9-hole Woodhey Dunes Course, which is built on sand and showcases dune-style terrain. This course is characterized by its generous putting greens and strategically placed bunkers, with the signature 2nd hole featuring a challenging island green.

The club's history is marked by continuous development and improvement. A significant refurbishment worth £2.4 million was undertaken recently, which included enhancements to the 18-hole championship course.

Throughout its history, Formby Hall Golf Club has hosted several prestigious golf tournaments. It has been a venue for the European Seniors, Challenge Tour, and Euro-Pro Tours, cementing its reputation in the golfing community.

Formby Hall's PGA Academy and Resort was added in 2008, further expanding the club's facilities. The Tommy Fleetwood Academy, which aims to nurture future golf talent, joined in 2019, highlighting the club's commitment to developing golfers.

Formby Hall's course and facilities have attracted both amateur and professional golfers. Its links to golf's elite remain, with the European Tour choosing it as a venue for the Challenge Tour from 1999 to 2001.
