Golspie Golf Club

Golspie Golf Course was established by the Golspie Golf Club in 1889, with origins tracing back to the Sutherland Golfing Society's events held prior to the club's official founding.

The course began as a nine-hole course praised by The Golfer's Guide for the United Kingdom in 1895 and expanded to an 18-hole course by 1905, an event marked by the opening conducted by the Duchess of Sutherland.

In 1925, James Braid, a renowned golf course designer, was commissioned to revamp the Golspie Golf Course, and by 1926, his enhancements such as new bunkers, green relocations, and layout changes were completed.

Braid's design remains largely intact to this day, underlining the enduring appeal and challenge of the course which includes distinct features such as a two-tier green on the Cairngorms hole.

Despite damage caused by flooding in December 2012 from the North Sea, the course was restored and updated, including lengthening certain holes to bring the course to a 6021-yard, par 70 configuration.

These updates were made with careful attention to maintain the original spirit of the course while enhancing its challenge for modern players.

Green fees range from £80 to £110 depending on the season. High season rates are from 1/5/25 to 26/9/25. Twilight rates are available after 2:40 PM during the mid-season and from 3:40 PM during the high season (1/5/25 – 7/9/25) and from 3:00 PM (8/9/25 – 26/9/25).

Members of the UK Golf Union receive a discounted rate. Members of a James Braid course must pre-book to get a discount. Reciprocals from local golf clubs must book direct with the Pro-shop/Office by phone or email to get the reduced rate.
