About: Hallamshire Golf Club

Hallamshire Golf Club is a members' golf club, in Yorkshire. The club was first formed in 1897.

The golf course at Hallamshire was established in 1897 by Christopher Leng, a local newspaper proprietor, on upland heath at Sandygate in Sheffield. Its original design was the work of an unknown professional golfer and the course has since undergone modifications.

In 1937, renowned architects Colt, Alison and Morrison were commissioned to make significant alterations to the course, culminating in the current layout which includes the distinctive 6th hole. By 1908, the course had gained enough prestige to host the Yorkshire Championships, solidifying its status within the region.

Winter green fees (Nov 1st - Mar 31st) are £60 Monday to Friday and £70 on Sundays, including breakfast or steak pie, chips & peas. Summer green fees (May-September) are £90 Monday/Tuesday and £110 Wednesday-Friday, Sunday & Bank Holidays.

County Card holders receive a rate of £80 per round Monday-Friday. Flexible rates are available for group bookings of more than 12 players by contacting the office.

A £10.00 per person reduction applies to all rates shown in April & October.
