About: Harrogate Golf Club

Harrogate Golf Club is a members' golf club, in Yorkshire. The club was first formed in 1892.

The Harrogate Golf Club was established in May 1892 with a 9-hole course at Birk Crag north of Harrogate. In 1899, due to the opening of a slaughterhouse near the original clubhouse, the club relocated to Belmont Farm near Starbeck on land owned by the Slingsby Estate, with the new course opening in the same year.

Sandy Herd, a professional from Huddersfield, designed the club's first 18-hole layout, while Harry Colt and Alister Mackenzie made subsequent alterations, including the design of the 17th green. The course is noted for its tree-lined fairways and includes several ancient English Oaks dating back 450 years, remnants of the Forest of Knaresborough.

Green fees vary depending on the season and time of day. From May 1st to October 31st, green fees are £65.00 before 15:30 and £40.00 after 15:30, seven days a week.

From November 1st, 2024 to March 31st, 2025, green fees are £40.00 Monday to Sunday. From April 1st to April 30th, 2025 green fees are £45.00 Monday to Sunday. Book a tee time online or by contacting the Pro Shop.
