Hartlepool Golf Club is a members' golf club, in Durham. The club was first formed in 1906.
Hartlepool Golf Club, established in 1906, is a links-style golf course situated on the northeast coast of England. The course extends to 6202 yards with a par of 70, and it holds a course record of 62 set by Graeme Storm in 1997.
The golf course began as a 9-hole course in Hart Old Village, evolving to its present 18-hole layout at Hart Warren, with historical figures like W Purves and John Gardner pivotal in its founding and development. New clubhouse facilities were inaugurated on July 31, 1961, costing £30,000.
The layout of Hartlepool Golf Club is influenced by renowned designers Willie Park Jr. and James Braid. Braid made significant changes to a number of holes in 1929, particularly concentrating on the bunkering and challenging aspects of the central holes.
Throughout its history, the course has seen minimal alterations since Braid's involvement, with most of the present course affected by renumbering after a new clubhouse was built following World War II and the construction of new holes in 1963. In 1983, the 17th hole was extended, contributing to the current structure of the course.
Green fees are available from October 1st 2024 to March 31st 2025. Visitor rates after 11am Midweek are £45 and £55 after 2:30pm Weekends.
Guest rates with a member are £20 weekdays and £25 weekends. Junior rates are £10 weekdays and £15 weekends.
