Helsby Golf Club is a members' golf club, in Cheshire. The club was first formed in 1902.
Helsby Golf Course was established in 1902 on approximately 30 acres of land near Primrose Lane and Towers Lane. The course was relocated in 1915 to the top of Helsby hill and subsequently moved back to a new course on Towers Lane in 1936, designed by James Braid.
This course became the front 9 holes, and in 1964 further land acquisition allowed for the development of the back 9 holes, completing the 18-hole course in 1968. Notable challenges include the hump on the 2nd green known as "the piano," rumored to be the remains of a burnt-down clubhouse's piano frame.
Visitors are welcome at Helsby Golf Club. Bookings can be made online or by contacting the pro shop.
Green fees start from £35 on weekdays and £40 on weekends.
