Hesketh Golf Club is a members' golf club, in Lancashire. The club was first formed in 1885.
Hesketh Golf Club, established in 1885, is the oldest golf club in Southport and has been chosen to host Regional Qualifying for the Open Championship from 2023 through 2026. The course itself is located at the northern end of the Merseyside sand dune system and offers a mixture of links-style play along with a more diverse landscape due to changes in recent years.
Two noteworthy holes, 6 and 7, border a nationally known bird reserve, offering golfers views of migrating geese, swans, and various wading birds during the winter, as well as an abundance of wildlife and flora year-round. Central to the course's heritage is the core layout around the clubhouse, with the Par 3 16th hole, praised by regular visitor Henry Cotton, stand out as a significant feature of the original course design.
