About: Killeen Golf Club

Killeen Golf Club is a members' golf club, in Kildare. The club was first formed in 1980.

The golf course at Killeen was established in 1980 on a 96-acre site by Paddy 'Boiler' White, originally named Four Lakes, featuring a par of 69 and an SSS (Standard Scratch Score) of 67. In 1989, Riverbury Ltd. purchased the facility and acquired additional land for expansion.

Noted golf course designer Pat Ruddy redesigned the course between 1992-1995, which included the construction of six new holes and the reconfiguration of the original layout to 12 longer holes, extending the course to 6,400 yards with a par of 71. Following further development by Anthony Hickey after 1999, the course reached its current layout of 6,743 yards with a par of 72, which was officially opened by Wayne Westner in June 2003.
