Kirby Muxloe Golf Club

Kirby Muxloe Golf Course was established in October 1893 as a nine-hole course, and by February 1894, monthly medals were being played there. The course was redesigned as an 18-hole course in 1926, and since then, it has undergone various alterations and improvements.

The location once underwent significant changes during the Second World War for agricultural purposes, leading to a redesign in 1949 and minor ones until 1988 when three new holes were created. The course's current form was established in 1993 with new greens added for the 11th hole in 2004 and the 4th hole in 2015.

The 5th hole of the course is notable for having its tee situated approximately 100 yards off the course in a field, a unique feature that is exceedingly rare in the country. Kirby Muxloe Golf Course also boasts extensive practice facilities, including a covered range, putting greens, and a short game area with practice bunkers.

The course has hosted significant events such as the English Senior Men's Open Amateur Championship in 2016 and the Women's Open Amateur Match Play Championship in 2018. These championships have contributed to Kirby Muxloe Golf Course's reputation as a competitive venue.
