About: Kirriemuir Golf Club

Kirriemuir Golf Club is a members' golf club, in Angus & Dundee. The club was first formed in 1884.

Kirriemuir Golf Club was established in 1884 with the original 9-hole course laid out on The Hill, which saw its first golf match in June 1864. The ladies formed their own club and course on this site in 1892 and 1893, respectively.

In 1908, land known as Kate's Wood was acquired through Sir Leonard Lyell of Kinnordy to create the current site of the golf club, with the original 9 holes designed by Mr Fox and the greenkeeper Norman McKenzie supervising the construction, leading to its opening on April 24, 1909. By 1924, extra land was added, and James Braid's design allowed for an expansion to 18 holes, which remains the basis of the course played today.

The Kirriemuir Golf Club course, developed by James Braid, is situated at the foot of the Angus Glens. It presents challenges for all skill levels with lush fairways and undulating greens, set in a mature parkland environment that also includes notable views of the Angus Glens.

Visitor green fees are £40 per round. During the winter months, fees are reduced to £25. Bookings can be made by contacting the club directly.
