Larne Golf Club

Larne Golf Course was established in 1894 and was originally designed by G L Bailie, with play moving in the opposite direction of the current course. The course initially did not include the fields which now comprise the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th holes.

In 1925, the course layout was revised and lengthened based on designs by A B Badlington and Gordon Ross, which led to the current direction of play. By 1927, with new land leases, the first three fairways were added to complete the layout known today.

During the early 2000s, new tee boxes were introduced, allowing for a configuration of 9 holes with a unique set of 18 tees. Overtime, the course has seen significant development, including the addition of various hazards, bunkers, trees, and shrubs to further challenge golfers.

The ownership of the course changed in 1963 when it was purchased outright, with a new clubhouse opening in 1967 at its present-day location behind the 1st tee. The course, developed extensively over time, maintains a layout that is characterized by modifications while offering expansive views.

Green fees vary based on the time of year. From April to September, the rate is £25 on weekdays and £35 on weekends and bank holidays. From October to March, the green fee is reduced to £20 on weekdays and £25 on weekends and bank holidays.

Society rates are available for groups of 12 or more.
