Llanishen Golf Club

Llanishen Golf Course was established as a nine-hole layout at Ty Mawr Farm and was known as Lisvane Golf Club before adopting its current name in 1905. The course expanded to 18 holes in 1924, thanks to land leased from Ernest Prosser.

The golf course underwent significant revisions, culminating in a new layout opened in April 1939, with the first ball driven by Club Captain Mr W.J Fooks. Following World War II, the course saw further development, including reclaiming four holes from the Glamorgan War Agricultural Committee and achieving 18 holes in play by 1950.

Notable developments at Llanishen Golf Course include an extension to the clubhouse starting in 1946 and a complete golf course renovation program reintroduced after World War II. Renowned club professional Jack Taylor served from 1952 to 1987, and his teaching methods continue to influence the members' games.

In June 1995, a new clubhouse was opened, and the golf club celebrated its centenary in 2005 with various events, including a Centenary Ball. The course's location in Cardiff, South Glamorgan, offers specific challenges and features, which were enough to attract high-profile visitors such as the football star Gareth Bale.

Visitor green fees vary by season. Summer rates (April 1 to September 30) are higher than winter rates (October 1 to March 31).

Weekend rates are available Sundays & Bank Holidays only. Saturdays are unavailable to visitors.
