Maldon Golf Club is a members' golf club, in Essex. The club was first formed in 1891.
Maldon Golf Club was established on November 24th, 1891, after a meeting of local dignitaries in Maldon High Street, where they decided to form a golf club with Rev. Edward Russell Horwood as its first president. The golf course is located on a flat meadow between the Chelmer/Blackwater Canal and the River Chelmer, near Beeleigh.
A nine-hole golf course was laid out by Thompson of Felixstowe with holes ranging from 110 to 460 yards, and it featured natural hazards such as gullies, a former mill stream, and reed-lined saltings. By 1904, the course had been extended, improved, and the putting greens enlarged, accommodating the sport's growing popularity.
Visitors are welcome at Maldon Golf Club. Limited tee times can be booked directly with the Club Manager 48 hours before play.
The club can assist in organising Society Days or Charity Events with tailor-made packages according to numbers and catering requirements. The club dress code must be adhered to by all golfers.
