Meltham Golf Club

Meltham Golf Club, established in 1908, is set in a parkland area near the Pennine Hills. Its course is known for offering challenges to players of varying abilities.

The club's formation was spurred by a strong local interest in golf, leading to a preliminary meeting on October 8th, 1907. The official opening of the club was on February 2nd, 1908, marking the commencement of golf activities on the course.

For the location of the course, Thick Hollins Park was chosen due to its suitability. Initial agreements were made with local landowners for the use of the land, starting in February 1908 for a two-year period.

The club's first annual general meeting occurred shortly after its establishment, indicating active member participation and governance. This meeting included the election of key positions and the establishment of club rules and regulations.

Early members like G. G. Fisher, Dr. R. Gellatly, John Reynolds, and others were crucial in its development. They played a significant role in shaping the course and the club's future.

Summer green fees (April to October) are up to £45 Monday-Thursday, up to £50 on Fridays, and up to £55 on weekends and bank holidays.
