Mossock Hall Golf Club

Mossock Hall Golf Club was built in 1996 by landowners John and Olive Mallinson. Their vision was to create a high-quality golf course that catered to all abilities rather than a lengthy 7,000-yard course. John Mallinson, proprietor of J Mallinson Ltd, decided to bring on board Steve Mannock, a golf course architect from Glossop, to make Mossock Hall a course that people would enjoy. The course has been operational since 1996, although with minimal online presence other than Golf Now and Google Reviews, it is unclear if the Mallinsons' vision has been achieved.

Mossock Hall Golf Club is set along the tranquil countryside bordering Lancashire and Merseyside, offering a pleasant setting for an 18-hole golfing experience. The course has a gentle roll with its layout and a charming 18th-century clubhouse.

The par-71 course measures 6,524 yards from the white tees and offers memorable playing experiences like the par-3 eleventh hole. This unique hole, nestled in a wooded hollow, demands a precise tee shot to bypass the stream and bunker defending the green. The course is home to various streams, ponds and strategically placed bunkers that present a challenging experience. The course's good drainage system and USGA greens make sure it is playable throughout the year and always in good condition.
